More advanced elements such as ring work, sparring and conditioning are held in seperate classes and if you wish to compete you will be invited to qualify for the 5 Elements squad. As a squad member you recieve additional training teaching you how to compete and win.
5 Elements have English, British & European Champions. We compete with many of the major organisations such as WAKO, BFKKO, IKF, ISKA, UKMTF, Ground Control and Goldenbelt. Michael Brooks and Instructor/Cornerman Tony Willis as Michael wins WAKO British Amateur Title (2008)
"Despite only having taken up the sport eighteen months ago, Essex kickboxer Michael has just won his first British title. A fast-paced test of agility, strength and tactics - kickboxing is one of the most frenetic of the martial arts, and Essex has a new British Champion. Eighteen-year-old Michael Brooks, from Basildon, won the -81kg British Full Contact Kickboxing title, held at the World Association of Kickboxing Organisation's championships, in Nottingham."
Michael says the sport of kickboxing is a great discipline to compete in, for a number of reasons: "It's really intense fitness wise, because obviously you're working as hard as you can for two minutes.
"It works the whole body," continues Michael. "It's a combination of everything - you've got to be strong, at the same time you've got to have endurance, you've got to be co-ordinated.....so it's a good all-round sport."
